Mysterious Book Reviews

I wouldn't say I'm a huge mystery reader, but I enjoy the odd mystery, and have a few authors I read faithfully. Here's what I thought of my latest "mysterious" reads...

Killer Ambition by Marcia Clark is another Rachel McKnight novel by this author (made famous by the OJ Simpson trial). This one takes place right in the heart of Hollywood with the death of the daughter of a major player in the movie scene. I really enjoy these novels - it feels very authentic and real, but with interesting and delightfully flawed characters. I really enjoy hanging out with Rachel, Bailey and their cohorts! Recommended!

Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich is another classic Stephanie Plum. What more can I say other than Lula antics, Ranger hotness, Morelli steadiness and car mishaps. A fast, easy read!

Zoo by James Patterson was so bad I didn't even finish listening to the audiobook. Seriously.

Accused by Lisa Scottoline returns us to the firm of Rosato & Associates, setting of many of her outstanding procedural novels. This time, it's Mary DiNunzio who is front and center - just made partner, just got engaged, and now... taking on the case of a thirteen year old genius who is trying to clear the name of the man who killed her sister. This is a great, twisty-turny novel, filled with warm characters and interesting legalese up to a satisfying ending. I recommend all of Scottoline's novels!
