Summertime Sojourn

Friends, it's been AGES since I updated - I'm sure you missed me terribly. ;-)

Between some health issues and a general lack of "I don't WANNA sit on the computer anymore!" in the evenings, I just haven't been very blogtastic of late; but, now the health issues are waning, the nights are getting longer, and I've got oodles of book reviews and things to share, so let's get going!

In the last month or two, I've...

Gone to ALA in Chicago, where I met some amazing authors (Audrey Niffenegger! Jojo Moyes!), saw some others (Giada de Laurentiis! Lois Lowry!) and even met the amazing Alan Bean, astronaut, moonwalker and absolute gentleman. What a moment!

One More Shot

I also got to hang out with my oldest bestie, Megan, who has relocated back to the Midwest. We've been friends since we were four years old - SO great to catch up with her (and her four-legged family)!

Megan and I

I've been cooking up a storm...homemade mac and cheese, quiche, strogonoff, and oh, so much more!

Gooey Goodness!

I've been enjoying seeing Silly Safaris at the library, and loving the HUGE turnout!

I've even been rescuing turtles trucking up my driveway...

Early Morning Visitor

I've been to South Bend and back to hang with the Division Relay Advisory Team as we plan our fall conferences...love these people...

New and Improved DRAT!

I've been quilting and creating, but can't share those photos...shhh...secret. ;-)

I've been to Lollapalooza in Chicago with my bestie girl Jen to see Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, and lots of quality people-watching. ;-)

Stage and Skyline

We also took in the Field Museum and the Art Institute...

And in between all that, there have been lunch-and-learns, board meeting and retreats, meetings and appointments and visits, and though I love to venture out and about, to live in the world and to see it all, there is nothing better than a misty morning in southern Indiana, as seen from your own back porch, your dog by your side.

Foggy Sunrise

Until next time...and how have you been, dear reader?
