We bolted from the hotel fairly early and headed over to Wagner Falls, a pretty, out-of-the-way waterfall set just back from a highway...just a lovely spot...and one of my favorites...

Zoe thought it was nice, but was more eager to sniff the trail than admire the view...

Next we headed to Munising Falls, which is a pleasant stroll down a path, tucked away in some trees...tall, but a bit "thin"...

The rain was still holding off, so we thought we'd press our luck and go back to Miner's Beach to exhaust the puppers while we had the chance...
She hated it, of course. ;-)
She even spent quite a bit of time paddling in Miner's River, right where it meets Lake Superior... she paddled from lake to river and back again, splashing all the while and having a whale of a time (lighter brown sand on the left is river, darker brown sand on the right is lake)...

I spent part of the walk picking up pretty stones and just marveling at how CLEAR the water is...in this shot, everything is submerged, but looks crystal clear...

And then...it started to rain.
And then it started to rain harder.
We bailed on the beach, went to a couple of gift shops, hit the local IGA for a sandwich, and have spent the afternoon happily reading books, snacking, napping and in Zoe's case, barking at other dogs as they wander by. ;-)
Not a bad view, even in the rain...as I said to Dad, it's what I picture Scotland looking like...

No grand designs for the evening in view of the weather, but in the morning, we bid farewell to Munising and head for our "cabin on the lake", where hopefully the view will be gorgeous, but the internet connectivity will be sparse. I can't wait to see it! Will blog and post more pics when I can!
