Happy Fourth of July

I don't really have a lot of vivid Fourth of July memories.

I always associate the holiday with being hot, and mosquito-y, and, being British, wasn't a holiday that my parents particularly embraced.

But, oh, I do love a good fireworks display...I love the involuntary reaction of a smile every time I see a new explosion, the "oooh" that seems involuntary as they light up the sky, the waiting for the inevitable "set off everything!" finale...

And I must admit, I do love a good sparkler. I need more sparklers in my life. On a random Tuesday, perhaps, or a quiet Thursday in October.

Happy 4th, friends...
