Book Review: Gone With a Handsomer Man

Gone With a Handsomer Man by Michael Lee West

When Authors on the Web offered me an advanced readers edition of this book, I took a look at the cover, saw it was blurbed by Janet Evanovich and said "I'm in"!

Much like Evanovich's titles, this is a purely frothy, silly, fun, light mystery taking place in the always-evocative Charleston, SC.

Let's be honest: this is not a hard-boiled mystery. This isn't going to win any literary awards. But, dang, it's just fun!

Teeny Templeton is getting her life on track - she's engaged, she's got a dog, she's cooking great recipes...and all that comes apart when she loses her fiancee and home when she discovers him playing naked badminton with two women in the backyard and hurls peaches in anger.

(Just go with it. *grin*)

The rest is a sugary tale of "whodunit", a new romance for Teeny, a lot of pink paint, and a lot of Southern charm.

This is a great, breezy, easy read, perfect for reading on the porch in our newly returned sunshine!
