Oscar Fashion Round-Up

Ahhh, the Oscars. Another year gone by, and in my picks this year, I actually got 50% of them right (it's always the short films and documentaries that trip me up...). I thought Anne Hathaway did a fine job, and her wardrobe was fab, but James Franco was...well, anyway.

I was THRILLED that "The King's Speech" won, as did my man Colin, and I was uber-happy about Trent's win!

NIN at the Oscars! (he's the little one)...

But...for me, it's all about the fashion! I thought overall we were missing a bit of the "glam factor" and we had a SERIOUS dearth of colour, but I did have a few fashion stand-out shout-outs...

My hands down favorite dress of the evening was Mandy Moore's red carpet dress by Monique Lhuillier (whom I *love*). It looked SO good on TV with the crystals against her skin and the absolutely invisible mesh, but doesn't translate well into pictures. I've included a "side by side" that shows it a bit better...stunning...

I liked the colour and pizazz of Mila Kunis' dress by Elie Saab, but dang, girl coulda smiled a bit (I specifically looked for at least one picture of her smiling)...

Lovelovelove Marchesa dresses, love Halle Berry, love them together...

Hilary Swank usually looks dour to me in Oscar gear, but I loved the Gucci glam (but did it not feel very Christan Siriano though, with the feathers?)...

And snaps to Melissa Leo for doing something COMPLETELY different in Marc Bouwer...

And that's it! I enjoyed Colin and Trent's acceptance speeches, I laughed at Melissa Leo, and I had a good time noshing and dishing with Becca, Carma and Zoe. Until next year!
