MotoGP 2010

So, last weekend was the third year in a rapidly growing tradition...MotoGP weekend in Indy, baby!

Once again, me, Michelle, Don, and all of the MCADX crew gathered in "Section 8" for an entire weekend of motorcycle racing, track touring, Motorcycles on Meridian gazing and just plain hanging out.

It was great. :-)

(Only downside was sleeping off a migraine AT THE TRACK in turn 1 during morning practice. That part sucked.)

We walked the pits on Friday...

First Glimpse

Michelle and I saw Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner (who did NOT "absolutely fly" during the weekend unless you count his crash at full speed) ready to take the Speed Stage. Nicky waved and smiled. Casey did not.

I screamed when Randy de Puniet took the track first for practice - sadly, he was not spotted shirtless over the weekend at all. Boo.

Randy!

We had a spectacular dinner on Friday evening at a Brazilian Steakhouse (Fogo de Chao)...

After a full Saturday at the track of practices and more, we had an MCADX dinner and then checked out Motorcycles on Meridian...there were just a few...

Race day, of course, was the hottest day by far, but had some great racing in the Moto2 race - including a spectacularly fiery crash...

Moto2 action...

The MotoGP race was great, but towards the end was pretty stretched out (Dani Pedrosa won with like a 7 second lead or something ridiculous), but Nicky represented with a solid 6th (that's him there in front)...

Represent...

And just like that, another racing weekend done! I'm still stunned by the rumor that Valentino Rossi (THE premier motorcycle racer in the world) sauntered through the Indy airport and not a SINGLE person recognized him. He's only the seventh-highest earning athlete IN THE WORLD. SEVEN. Wow!

A great weekend - and Indy has re-signed for a race next year! Until then....

Hee hee!! "Casey Stoner...absolutely flying!" I actually have been saying that out loud (with the proper accent, of course) ever since I read your post. It brings back memories of our Tiny Town get-together!!
