Lots of food booths, crowds, music and merriment was had by all! The theme was "Salute to Freedom" so there was a huge emphasis on veterans, there was a USO group here, and lots more. The library got in on the action by displaying WWII photos and memorabilia that was loaned to us by the community...we had a really great display...
Photos and an actual WWII navy uniform..
Everything set up for displaying (we also showed Ken Burns' "The War" and had scrapbooks for folks to look through)
Such neat memorabilia...
Another uniform in pristine condition...
A piece of the Berlin Wall, even!
My contribution...Grandpa's photos from his days in the Czech-English army...
River Days in full swing...
Our riverfront...we have such a pretty part of the river...
The abandoned silos that block the view...there is a townwide fundraiser going on to finally tear them down and show off our view...
And hey! I finally tried a peanut coke!
What a great weekend!
