Just a couple of reviews...
The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry
This is one of those great atmospheric reads...set in Salem (present day), and narrated by Towner - who admits on page one that she's a liar. The reader is immediately pulled into the story of Towner's return to Salem, her eccentric family, religion, and finding out what is truth...and what is lies. A really compelling read! Note: I listened to the audio narrated, well narrated by Alyssa Bresnahan.
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
The second in this really great YA fantasy series...the story of Clary continues, with lots of action, drama, familial ties, romance, and you know, vampires, Shadowhunters, warlocks and werewolves. Summarizing doesn't do it justice! The first book, City of Bones, was a great starter, and this is a fantastic followup! Read!
Jane Austen Ruined My Life by Beth Pattillo
Eh...it was okay. But probably I would have enjoyed it more had I not just read another fantastic Austen novel (review forthcoming!). Still...eh. Quick read...
