Portfolio

I'm currently a librarian in a public library in Indiana, but my passion has always been to write. It wasn't until a few years ago that I allowed myself to write more than papers for college or memos for work. Now, I love anything I can put my name to - fanfiction, novels, short stories and more. It's my wish to have my work published both online and in print, and though my list of publications and works is short to start, everyone has to start somewhere! Below are some examples of my writing.

Published In...

I write a weekly column for Crucial Taunt, a site devoted to sports, politics, pop culture and more. I write a weekly book review for the "Crucial Pop" part of the site, covering all kinds of fiction and non-fiction titles.

I write a regular column for each issue of Indiana Libraries, the scholarly journal for librarians in the state of Indiana. The columns identify articles and sources useful to libraries on a different topic each issue. I also serve as an assistant editor for the publication.

I am a regular contributor (and moderator) of Firesuit Fantasies, a high-quality NASCAR fanfiction site. Authors must be invited to post stories, and feedback is encouraged.

I currently write a weekly column for my local newspaper (Mount Vernon Democrat) called "A Wrinkle in Time", a look back at what was happening in Mount Vernon 10, 25, and 50 years ago.

A creative nonfiction work about my grandfather's ultimate escape from Prague, entitled Wenceslas Square, was accepted for the Volume 4, Number 3 issue of Toasted Cheese, Literary Journal.

A book review of Alice Hoffman's novel, Blackbird House, was published in the August/September issue of All Things Girl.
